    IF YOU DON'T KNOW MOBY

READ THIS POEM BY LINDA ELLIS!
    by: Linda Ellis (c) 1998
------------------------------------------------ Your listening audience is expanding,
and now I feel an obligation…
to inform all the new listeners
    that you get through syndication.

    First and foremost, there’s Moby;
    if there’s a cause, he’ll stand beside it….
because he’s sensitive and caring --
though he does a good job to hide it!

    He’s sometimes bold and assertive,
but he takes on a different perső na,
when he speaks of special times he shares
with his son and "best friend," Jonah.

And if Moby is suddenly absent,
it might be that he’s on vacation.
    (Or probably taking some "R&R"
that was "recommended" by the station!)

    He praises the physically challenged,
and lends an ear to those discouraged.
    He offers empathy…not sympathy,
just to help them feel encouraged.

    People are sending him E-mail.
His new Web Page is his toy,
but instead of Moby in the Morning,
    his ID should be…COMPUBOY!

What will he come up with next
    every day is a mystery
when he digs up fascinating events
    during "Today in History…"

    Then there’s pretty Deborah Richards,
who adds a little, " touch of class,"
    and having this responsibility,
her job is a pain in the ……..!

Last but not least, there’s another.
His name is Mr. Jim Vann.
He’s Moby in the Morning’s sidekick.
    (Like Johnny Carson’s…Ed McMahon!)

They have great features on their show
    that make other DJ’s jealous…
such as poems from Danny Dunbar
    not to mention, Linda Ellis!!

And listeners are on the "Wake-Up Song,"
    It’s an early-morning booster!
Then one lucky listener gets to slay
    that annoying crowing rooster!

At the end of every workweek,
you can’t help but sing along
because those catchy words stick in your head
    to the Friday "Scotsman Song!"

    You’ll enjoy listening to "kicks,"
    without an if…and…but…or maybe,
and subconsciously you will find yourself
    ending sentences with…"Yeah, Baby!"

Although Moby will never get to meet
all the people his station reaches,
his listeners make up a family…
    and he just calls them…"peaches!"
