Tying everything together with his genuine and humorous approach to events of the day and his patented exclamation, Yeah, Baby!.
Born in Crossville, Tennessee, His destiny was tied to country music as he listened to his Dad sing country and gospel songs. At the age of 15, he landed his first radio job on WCSV/AM in Crossville.
Moby attended Belmont College in Nashville with the dream of becoming a H.S. band director. But radio was under his skin, so he quit and went to work for two stations in Nashville, one of which was KDF-AM where he made $100 a week.
Moby has worked for KSRR-FM in Houston, KEGL-FM in Dallas and 98 Rock in Tampa. He retuned to Houston where he became the top rated rock personality. Jim Vann

Born in Columbus. Ga . Jim grew up in the hills of North Georgia. he started his radio career at the tender age of 17, sweeping up around WCHK in Canton. His first chance on the air was December 20th, 1969. Like any young broadcaster. Jim assumed that the audience was listening for him, and that the music was incidental. It took about 1/2 hour before a drunk explained the error in his thinking
For the next 23 years the policy of,"shut-up and play the music." served Jim well as a personality and manager of successful radio stations in Atlanta. Charleston, SC and St. Louis. Then he met Moby. On April 2. 1991.(we thought April 1st could be too obvious) Moby took the airwaves of Atlanta and proved to Jim that the drunk was wrong. It ain't just the music. talk's good, too ..if you have something to say.
Jim has been with KICKS 101.5 for ten years, and has served as Moby's sidekick and traffic reporter for 6. He has been called." the head writer of the morning show:" Jim enjoys working behind the scenes so he can devote more rime to his "Real"' job, which is doing voiceovers for companies like General Motors. IBM, AT&T. Dun & Bradstreet and Coca-Cola, among others.
He married Jannis, one of America's most respected building designers, in 1971, shortly after she was born. They have two daughters Jennifer, 19. a sophomore at the art school, studying interior design, and Jessica,16 who plans a career in music production. Jim still hopes to convince her to look at Waffle House more seriously before she does anything crazy.
