Captain Corey Myrick

Hi my name is Yvonne and I am a school nurse at a middle school here in Polk county, GA. I am nominating my husband for small town hero. He is a firefighter at Haralson County fire department and Tallapoosa fire department and volunteers here at Polk county. We have a small farm and three kids as well (16, 13, and 9).I know he feels a lot of pressure and stress most of the time. He is such a great guy, he works all the time and we do not get to see each other much, but he always manages to find time to call and tell me how beautiful and special I am and how much he misses and loves me. I have been with him a couple of times on some of his calls and it amazes me to watch him take control over the scene whether it is a fire or car accident he knows just what to do. Not to long ago he had a fire and a toddler died in the fire and I know it upset him emotionally. Fireman as well as police and Ems have to deal with tragedy all the time. Sometimes I am sure they feel like they are took for granted even mistreated. I want everyone of them to know I appreciate them and the sacrifices they make for all of us. I especially want my husband to know how proud I am of him and how grateful I am to have him in my life. God sent me my very own small town hero and his name is Corey.
