Well I was just checking my email and I thought I would do an internet search to see if my favorite radio personality had turned up in another city somewhere, (Hopefully with streaming audio), so that I could bare to listen to morning radio again. My AOL search was unfruitful and just when I was about to log off, having only found references to "Moby Grape" and the Melville classic, I thought that I would try Yahoo search. Well, when I found the Moby in the Morning link, I expected a dead end. I was delighted to find out that not only were you still in Atlanta, but going back on our airwaves. I've ben home sick with the flu for a week and this is the best I've felt in days. I missed out on the article in the "Atlanta Urinal and Constipation". I haven't read it since they dropped B.C. comics for doing a Christian strip on Easter Sunday. Can you imagine that? I can't make the parade in Roswell saturday but now that you're coming back I'll actually have a reason to turn on the radio again. I hope to find you soon. Chuck
I AM SO EXCITED THAT YOU ARE STAYING IN ATLANTA!!!!!!! I WILL FIND YOU ON WHATEVER STATION. I JUST PRAY THEY LET YOU BE YOU! BECAUSE "YOU" IS WHAT WE ALL WANT.
I miss you Moby! I used to listen to you on a station in Victoria, TX, but they sold out, or whatever, a few years ago. Whenever I'm in the Atlanta area on business, I always listen. Please come back to our market!!!!
Miss ya, can't wait till your back.
Moby, I was on vacation when you departed KICKS. I was so shocked when I came home and found you were gone. I do not know what motivated the seperation, but I have every confidence that KICKS is the one with the biggest loss... I am sure that I am one of many who waits daily to hear that you have resurfaced on another station in Atlanta. I pray that it will be a country station... I am not into rock... Hope to hear you again soon... Yea Baby!!!!!!
Moby, You are right, you have been our family. I remember when the I wrote a letter for Mother's Day telling my son, who was then five, now seventeen, how much I loved him and missed him. He was born on Mother's Day and I was just a child and was pretty much persuaded to give him up for adoption. The caring that I heard in your voice as you read my letter gave me the courage and pride I needed to continue with life. You have made me laugh and cry and I do not ever think that 101.5 will ever realize how much you mean to all of us. Thank you for all the years and I anxiously await to hear your sweet voice on the radio again. Please know we all love you and miss you! Your friend, Lisa
Hi Moby, I sure miss hearing you on the radio. I have listened to you from the very beginning. I love your sense of humor. I just couldn't believe it when I read in the paper that you were no longer with kicks. I bet they have lost a lot of listener since this happened. I don't listen to them anymore. Anyway hope to hear you on the radio again soon. YEAH BABY.....Susan Barnett
Okay now Moby, I think it is time to let us know what station you are going to be at! I have realized that it will not be country therefore you need to let us (your radio family) know so we can convert over to what ever!
Moby, When I first misssed you I just thought you were on vacation, but then I heard some people at work saying you were fired, or off the air, or something. I was so mad I tried to call the station to tell them I would never listen to them again. You made me laugh, or cry on my way to work every morning. I miss you, and hope you are back soon.I'm a member of the Son's of Confederate Veterans, so I understand about all the PC stuff. I will get back with you after Georgia kicks Tennessee's but on Saturday. Roy
Dear Moby I'm so upset about what happened. You are without a doubt what made Kicks, Kicks. Without you there, their just another radio station. Hope to hear your voice soon. Yeah Baby....
hi moby for once in my life when i turn the radio on at the house or get into my car i no longer turn the radio on i go right to a cd. since you are gone from kickc there is no more reason to listen to the radio. you gave everyone in atlanta a reason to listen . wether to laugh or cry or just sing along they turned to you because you were the only true to life dj on the air. so many have come and gone but never were the same off the air.wherever you end up at (hopefully in the atlanta are)i will gladly listen to. the corporation doesnt know what they are losing in you. you have helped so many people in georgia just by what you say on the air and you and the corporation doesnt know it. yo uwill be missed dearly until the day you are back on the air.until we hear you again . yeah baby eric clarke
Hey Moby, Glad that you are still in the picture! I felt betrayed and hurt, not by you, but by "corporate"! I felt very helpless, in that I wanted to get everbody that had commercial time on 101.5. to withdraw and put the screws to those that dumped you. I wrote the station manager and let him know that I could listen to country music in all kinds of places, I listened to 101.5 for YOU and the morning show. Without Moby, there was no morning show, and that for the first time, since you had come to Atlanta, my radio would not be tuned to 101.5 FM, and that it would be a strange ride into work. I had been with you through your divorce and the growing up of Jonah, the departure of Debra Richards. and had even begun to like the new girl, Jill Kelly, and of course the lovable lug, Jim Vann. Everything you did and have done for this community and the great US of A, is unhearalded in this day and age. You are a man of integrity and heart and even though I have never met you, I feel like we are "bonded". The station manager did respond to my email, expressing his wish for me to give 101.5 a chance with the new deal. Moby, I too am a man of conviction, I said my radio would not be tuned to 101.5 FM as long as Moby was not there to entertain me, and it has not been. Where ever you land , they will be lucky to have you and if I don't hear back from you, that's ok, just keep on being you, and as long as you can live with the man in the mirror, it will all be ok! I know I cannot hurt 101.5, by not listening, but I DO NOT have to help them. In closing, I would like to thank you for your time, and for being a real humanitarian, and to say that you will never be "too country" for me. Good luck and good hunting and remember--Do not worry about the small stuff, and next to death, it is all SMALL STUFF! I am Sincerely, Dal L. Dunagan.
Mr. Moby, it is just not the same without you. We miss you very much. Hope to hear you back on the air somewhere very soon. I sure wish it could be in Athens !!!
Moby...the station is going down fast. I have deleted it from my selections and it seems everyone else has also! Keep is posted! YEAH BABY! DON W
Moby, I never thought I would miss hearing a Radio DJ. I started listening to you in 1991. I love country music but do not listen to 101.5 any more since it is not the same without you there. Am looking forward to finding out where you end up at. God Bless!
SURE DO MISS HEARING YOU IN THE MORNINGS. WISH YOU ALL THE BEST
MOBY, I JUST WANT TO SAY SINCE I MOVE TO THE ATLANTA AREA(STOCKBRIDGE) FROM DAY ONE I FOUND YOU ON THE RADIO AND NEVER WENT ANYWHERE ELSE. AND WHEREVER YOU END UP ON THE RADIO THATS WHERE I'LL BE. I REALLY MISS YOU ON THE WAY TO WORK EVERY MORNING AND CAN'T WAIT TILL YOUR BACK ON THE AIR. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE YOU ARE. OH YEA, LET ME SAY THAT I THINK THE HONCHO'S AT KHIX ARE OUT OF THERE MINDS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPEN BUT THERE CAN'T BE A GOOD REASON FOR THEM TO LET YOU GET AWAY. I'M ONE THAT HATES CHANGE AND WHEN YOU LEFT IT SCREWS UP MY DAY RIGHT FROM THE START. I HOPE TO HEAR YOU SOON. THANKS FOR THE GOOD DAYS YOU GAVE ME. YOURS TRULY, YOUR BUDDY MIKE SIMPSON
I'm glad to hear you will be reincarnated (hee hee). I've missed you. God has big plans for you and I can't wait to hear what they are. Take care!
I am not sure what happened to you but I do know that the show will not be the same. I have quit listening since you are not there. I can not stan to hear Jill's little squicky voice but at least it was tolarable when you were there. Hope everything works out.
Moby -- I've listened to you for as long as I can remember... when you disappered from the airwaves one day, I brought it up at work. A coworker shared that she was glad you weren't on the air anymore because she feels you are a phony. I wonder, is it true that you used to be on Texas radio as a non-country, raunchy and sometimes "questionable" DJ? If it is true, did you have some kind of born again expereince or is your caring, poetic country character an act? Signed, A curious and long time Atlanta fan
Dear Moby, I'm so glad you're soon going to be back on the air . . . somewhere. Just hope it's in the Atlanta listening range. My wife and I have listened to you faithfully for years, and we have surely missed that hearty "Yeah, Baby" and "Hello Peaches" every morning. Most of all, we've missed your caring spirit. Your concern for people. And, yes, the Scotsman's song. Please come back soon. We need you. Especially in times like 9/11. Your friends, David and Yvette Elliott Fayetteville, GA
I miss listening to you every day. I have been listening to you from day one! Please let me know where you will be going so I can change my radio(s) station(s). I hope we will at some point find out what happened between you and WKHX. I can't imagine why they chose to let you go! Bad decision on someone's part. Let us hear from you! Even my grandson asks me about "Mr. Moby" and why I'm not listening to you any more.... Please advise, soon.... Love ya! Yeah Baby!
Moby, I am so glad that you are staying in Atlanta. I really miss you on Kicks. It is not the same with you gone. The morning show is really no good anymore. They will regret you leaving, because your loyal fans will move to the station that you go to. Tell Mary Beth and Jonah hi for me. You take care of yourself. Will listen to you soon. Hope you liked the Elvis Presley Pound Cake I baked for you, and gave to you at J & R Clothing. If Mary Beth wants the recipe, I will be happy to give it to her. Lots of love. Mary Little Bear YEAH BABY
We miss you Moby, My mother, sisters, and I don't listen to Kicks since you have been gone. What is the point since you were the reason that we listened to it in the first place. Take care and let us know where you end up.
MOBY I AM TRULY GOING TO MISS YOU. I HAVE LISTENED TO YOU FOR 11 YEARS AND HEARD YOUR GOOD AND BAD. THATS WHY I LIKE YOU SO MUCH!!!! YOU ARE HUMAN WITH ALL YOUR GOOD AND BAD. IF BEING A SOUTHERNER WITH A DRAWL IS BAD IN ATLANTA OF ALL PLACES WHAT IN THE HECK IS THIS WORLD COMING TO. GOD HELP US ALL. I WISH YOU AND YOURS THE BEST. I WILL MISS LAUGHING AND CRYING WITH YOU. LINDA S. STONE MOUNTAIN GA YEAH BABY!!!!!!!
Moby I was very sorry to here you were no longer with kicks. I felt something was wrong after the third week. I pulled up kicks page to find out. I hope you still do everything you did and do for everyone will go on.{Bass tournment} and all. Thanks again Melinda
Just waiting to hear the REAL story. Wondering where you are.....
Moby, I just wanted you to know how much you are missed. I can't wait to hear you on the "new" station. I called KICKS that Monday morning at around 6:00 a.m. when my husband called me on my cell phone and asked "Where's MOBY?". All advertisement and the introductions about "Moby in the Morning" were gone. I called the radio station and they said you were no longer with KICKS. What a shame! I sent you an email that day and asked if you were ok. I was glad to get a response back! Blessings upon you and Mary Beth. I'll keep checking the website to find out where you land. Take care. YEAH, BABY and good luck, Peaches!
I have truly missed hearing you every morning on my way to work.
Oh Moby you are so missed! I can't wait until you get back on the air. You are the reason I started listening to country music in the first place, and you are one of the reasons I continued to listen. I'll sure keep checking the site to see where I can catch you next.
We miss you very much. Hope to hear you back on the air soon!
Moby - We sure do miss you!!!! Just know that you've got a huge family out here waiting for your return to the air waves. There have been a lot of feelings expressed over you not being with kicks anymore - but everyone is entitled to their opinion - after all this is a free country. But every family has their ups and downs, times of happiness, grief, misunderstandings, etc. There is not one family who gets along or agrees with each other every day. Each person is an individual with their own values or beliefs - and working together - compromising sometimes when you don't really want to - that's what makes it work. That is what makes a family. It is not the belief of one person (as that would be considered a dictatorship) but the combined input that makes this world as well as any family work. God bless you! Your family is here as always and we look forward to being with you each day again..... Soon! Love Ya! YEA BABY! Renay
I'm so glad that you will be back on the air. Mornings just are NOT the same without you. God be with you and your family.
I miss you on the radio. I live in McDonough and work in Thomaston and I listened to you every morning coming to work and it was an exciting show but now it is boring as hell. I like the ones on there in the morning but it is not the same. Hurry and let us know where you will be so I can set my dial on the radio. Thanks. Debra
Keep the faith in yourself, Good Luck in Your new adventure.
Moby, I just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers right now. My dad was on the air in Atlanta from 1977-1992 doing news and traffic for a news-talk format station. Every morning when I got ready for school I would listen to you. You always started my day off with a smile. We have lived in Knoxville for the past 10 years but when I return to Atlanta for a visit I always turn to you. I know from the inside how fickle this business can be. Just remember God always has something better in store. PS-Ever thought about moving to Knoxville??? =)
MISS YOU! HURRY BACK!
Hi Moby, Miss you and your honesty every morning, I'm not sure where you will go, or what you will be doing, but I know GOD will bless you in your decisions. I will listen to you, but please don't go to retro rock, I'm not too fond of that, neither is my grandaughter, she just turned 1 year old and you are all that she listened to. She says HI also. God Bless You, and GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Miss you in the A.M. Glad you have not left the area. We look forward to hearing from you soon! YEAH Baby!!
You are "TOO COUNTRY" and just a little while back 'Country Gold Saturday Night' moved up a few Mz. Do we maybe hear "Format Change" rumbling in the background.
Just to say.. we miss you.. so many times I agreed with the things you said.. sometimes I did not!!!, but I did have the switch, but never turned it off..real adults respect other people have opinions too... I look forward to hearing you again soon.. I will be watching the web site..Thanks for many memories, happy times and sad times ..and remember..FRIENDS ARE ANGELS WHO LIFT US UP WHEN OUR WINGS HAVE TROUBLE REMEMBERING HOW TO FLY.. (I AM LIFTING ONE OF YOUR WINGS NOW.. AS YOU HAVE DONE IN THE PAST FOR ALL OF YOUR LISTENERS..) GOD BLESS YOU!!!
Dear Moby, I am ssssooooo glad to hear you are coming back to radio because the mornings are just not the same without you. Ever morning since 1998 i have listened to you on the way to school. Since you left i have been listening to cd's to and from Gordon College in Barnesville,Ga and that gets old after awhile. So when you come back to radio i hope that its a station that I can pick up in B'ville. Oh, and 2 more things: "Good Mornin' Peaches & Yeah Baby!!!" Chris
I always enjoyed listening to you in the mornings. My hope is that you will always do what you love, and love what you do. Best wishes to you always, Wanda
Moby, you need to hurry up and get back on the radio so we can hear about those hunting trips.I am counting down the days until I can go after that big buck myself.
Love ya, baby!
Whatever station you are on will be our station!!! YEAH BABY!!! We will not listen to KICKS again. Your show was one of a kind;unique. YOU made it that way. We've been listening since before you came. We remember Moby's coming signs being everywhere. In these years while you were there,is when KICKS became ANYTHING other than another radio station. YOU made KICKS what they are today, a respected family radio station. Moby, you are the only D.J. the whole city associates with 101.5. KICKS lost their biggest asset. What a mistake!!! The relationship you built with the community will not happen again! Thank you Moby for all the warm and sincere dedicated years you gave us ALL -
We miss you ... the morning commute is just not the same without you ... I've even taken up books on tape since you've been off the air! We can't wait to hear you making us laugh and cry again! Hurry back!!
Hey Moby. I am Sally from Bostwick. Looking forward to seeing you at the Cottin Gin Parade on November 2, 2002.
So glad it looks like you will be back on the air. I have really missed you. I hardly listen to KICKS anymore. Hey, I'm getting married Sat. after being single for 20 years!! I'll always remember I was listening to you 9-11-01. Hope to hear you soon.
I SURE DO MISS YOU. I have been listening to you for years. I have been in just about every city you have at the same time you were there, and I would get such a surprise to turn to a station and hear your voice. And of course, that would become my station. I will be changing to wherever you should wind up, because I love "Moby" in the morning. I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, but I will some day, and when I do I want to give you a big hug and tell you that you make a big difference in my life with little things that you say and do. I will follow you anywhere, just let me know where you land. Your long life radio fan, Shirley Clapp
We are still missing you, all the stations seem so boring now. I've even gone to listening to Niel Bortz (spelling??) on WSB sometimes. I've written WKHX and let them know how I feel. But the letter I got in reply was confusing and vague. They made mention of an article in the AJC, but I have not seen anything, how can I find out what transpired in this situation. All I know is I was out-of-town for a couple of weeks and when I returned, THERE WAS NO MOBY ! ! ! ! We love you and want to support you in any way we can. YEAH BABY ! ! ! !
Dear Moby, I just want to let you know that my husband and I can't wait to hear you back on the radio! You, Jim and Deborah were a great team and we missed Deborah after she left, however, Jill does a fine job. We still listen to Jim, Jill, Caddy or Bill in the morning, but it just isn't the same without hearing you. We had the opportunity to meet you in person a couple of times and you were so gracious to take the time to speak to each and every person that wanted to speak with you. We missed the show the last time you mentioned Eleanor and we always wondered how she is doing. Jonah still seems to be just like one of our children. Although ours are in their 30's, they still come to Dad and Mom. We now have 2 grandchildren - ages 5 and 2. They love the song "Talk about me"! I am sure you and Mary Beth are enjoying this time together. My husband and I have been together for 39 years, and we still do everything together - even grocery shopping! We look forward to hearing your voice on the radio soon.
YEA BABY!! I have found my friend!!! Can't wait to hear from you again. atlanta radio is in need of you desperately!! its really hard for me to drive, talk on my cell phone and flip radio stations all at once. (just kidding). Miss ya big guy. hope the family is well. we are ok except the bad case of moby withdrawal that we have had to go through. hurry and help us!!!!
I no longer listen to KICKS since you left. The only good thing left is Jim. He has a dry/suttle sense of humor that I enjoy but it's not enough to hold me to the show, you WERE the KICKS morning show. Good Luck and thanks for keeping us informed. Did they fire you? If so, that was a stupid move on their part.
Not hearing you during the morning drive makes me feel like I have lost touch with an old friend. Hope to hear you voice again soon.
Moby, we miss you sooooo much. My 3 year old son would hear you on the radio going to daycare in the mornings and would sit in the back seat continuing to say "Yeah Baby" all the way to daycare.
The mornings are not the same without you. My hour commute has been spent changing stations every am. Finally switched to CDs. Hopefully, you will be back on the air soon. YEAH BABY
My daughter and I miss you every morning on the ride to school. Get back quickly.
I told my kids (Shane, 13, & Shelby, 9) about your posting on the website that you might be close to getting back on the air in Atlanta. We are so excited and can't wait. We miss you so much. I hardly listen to the radio anymore - no reason to, you're not there. Keep your chin up and know that we love you and are patiently awaiting your return to the airwaves.
Bye the way I forgot to add one thing to my message. YEAH BABY
Moby, Inever thought to opeen you Moby in the morning web site. I have been so upset with Kicks, I know they have getting a e-mail from me. But like you said everyone is entitled to theeir opinion and I certainly gave them mine. I canno wait to see where you are going to be. I truly hope it is Atlanta. The loss belongs to Kicks. You just really do not know how many people were affected and upset with what happened. The morning show is not and never will be the same. I is terrible. It is such a pretense it is unbelievable. I have eye surgery and could not watch TV for two weeks and guess what I couldn't listen to the morning show either. I called Kicks one morning just after the article appeared in the AJC and asked Bill Cellars assistant if he didn't think the song was a little bit too country for their station. They speak out of both sides of their mouth. So much for that. Just hurry and come back we are all waiting with baited breath. Also, I am so glad you had someone like Marybeth by your side dduring all this. You do know the good Lord takes care of us and he certainly looking out for you. Where ever you go or whatever you do, I know you will be a huge success. You are alwaye NUMBER ONE IN OUR BOOK.I have heard so many people say that. Also remember WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. Kicks will never be number one again. We love you to the STARS AND BACK AGAIN Faye Busenlehner
Hey buddy. . .I was catching up on my Inside Radios and just read the news about you and KICKS. WOW! I know how a "change in direction" can really screw up good things. On the bright side. . .Now you can probably find a situation that will let you do what you've always wanted to do. I can't believe the postings on this site. . .no. . .I do believe it. Moby. . .You are an inspiration and role model to many. More than you can imagine. Good things happen to good people. Now its time to move on to the next level for you. I'm back in Houston working as Client Services Director for Hispanic Broadcasting. I'm always ever grateful that you were the one to give me my first radio job in 84. I have not forgotten. I never will. The news about you leaving KICKS kinda hurt me. . .a little. . .but I knew you were a survivor. You've been thru it before and always have come back bigger and better. now the opportunity is calling for you to take it to another level. . .do what you've always wanted to do . . .and give us the next generation of MOBY in the morning. . .or afternoon. . .or whatever. I'm here, mob. I'll call you this week.
Hi, Moby. Hope to hear you on the radio once more very soon. I also hope it's on a station where you can be yourself. Country radio is pretty bad right now, what with all the pop music that is currently being passed off as country. The male audience just isn't being sought by country radio as much as it use too, and that's too bad. Openly courting the soccer mom audience will drive more people away from country radio than it will attract. Let's have more Hank Jr., Brad Paisley, Darryl Worley and Montgomery Gentry, and less Kellie Coffey, SheDaisy and Steve Holy. Once again, I hope to hear you on the radio soon, Moby.
Moby, I truly have missed you, as have all they guys I work with. We are all eagerly awaiting word of your return to the Atlanta airwaves. KICKS certainly shot themselves in the foot when the two of you "parted ways". The only good thing that I've heard as a result of your leaving KICKS is that Dene Hallam has also been dismissed. He and I had more than one disagreement of programming (via email and even in person). I KNOW you will be ON TOP again wherever you land on the air. Best wishes to you and MaryBeth (boy does "Battle of the Sexes" miss the question queen! I don't know WHERE some of the questions have come from lately!) and to Jonah too. I'll be checking back regularly for news on your "new home".
