Moby, You were always about honesty and I must tell you I was so sad to see you leave 101.5. I tried to listen to you on Z93 but I just couldn't buy into it. I think your heart is and will always be with Country music because it is who you are. I have never met you but feel as if I know you. I listened thru your divorce with Kelly, the trials of raising Jonah and your marrage to MaryBeth. I cried with you and your listners as you sang Amazing Grace to people who were in pain due to the loss of a loved one. You are a proud husband and father and I think it is so wonderful that you are not afraid to share it. I want to say thank you for encouraging your son to join the Navy and serve our country as a mother I know in these times that is not an easy thing to do. May God bless you and your family in whatever it is he wants you to do next. I have never written or contacted anyone on a radio show but this is something I felt I need to do. God bless and we will miss you!!

Moby, It was good to see ya Saturday at the Bass Tournament. We only caught 3+ lbs, but it was for a great cause. You seem to always light up the event when you are there. No matter where you go you will have a special place in our hearts. Laughter, tears, jokes and just a good time. What some great memories! I wish you and your family the best and may you have lots of love, laughter & happiness always:} P.S. I'm the one who you said a couple of years ago at the bass tourn. I had enough for a fish sandwich. This was my 5th year fishing this. Well I just wanted to take the time to let you know how much you meant to your fans. You'll be greatly missed!!!!! Take Care, Sherri Newton

Moby, I must not understand the radio business. I always thought you were the best D.J. I ever heard. I followed you from Kicks to Z-93 and I will follow you to if you go to 99x (I'll just have to turn down the sound during the songs). My wife and kids are also fans. It's really hard explaining to a 10 and 13 year old why they can't listen to Moby in the morning anymore. Some things just don't make any sense. Let us know if you plan to go to another station. We miss you alot. Joe Deslattes

Dear Moby, Sorry to see you had to stick your arm in the mouth of a Lion to finally retire. I sure hope you can still use your arm and hand and fingers. Man I am gonna miss hearing "Yea Baby!" in the morning even after switching from Country to Rock. You are loved buy so many people everywhere. Maybe one day you can own a radio station and run it the way you want :) just a thought. Just hearing your voice in the morning always brighten my day and gave me inspiration to love evenyone and not hate or lash out at others when they do something I feel was wrong. Love you man! Hey Moby. I just want you to know that you are really missed by this loyal listener. As an avid listener of yours, I took the plunge from 101.5 to Z93 just to hear you in the morning. I'm not a big classic rock fan, but I was willing to put up with the music to hear my Moby in the morning. Now I am really sad as it looks like we won't be hearing you on Atlanta radio anymore. When you first came to Atlanta and Kicks, I wasn't too sure what to think of you. Definitely different. But it didn't take too long for me to become addicted to your morning show. It definitely woke me up and made me laugh every morning. I just could not start my morning without the 'Wake Up Song'. I just finished listening to your 4 minute clip. Its great and brings back a lot of memories. The love, support and friendship you have shown to others is definitely inspiring. I wish you well in the future and hope that life treats you good, as it already has. You are and always will be one of the BEST!! You will be missed.

Moby I listened to you in the 80s in Houston then here in Atlanta on 101.5 and then Z93. I'm from Atlanta and was glad the first time I saw the sign that just said Moby I knew it had to be you. I started listing to country music just so I could hear you. Now I love Alan Jackson and country music. When you left that station I change the setting on my car radio to Z93 and switched back later in the day to the country station. I will miss you voice in the mornings. You made me cry, you made me laugh and sometime at the same time. You are a great person and I wish you all the best in the world. God bless you and your family.

I am a fan from a long time ago when you were syndicated on one of the country stations here in Augusta. You were replaced by Jill and Charlie (yes that Jill) and things never were the same. You and I went through divorces together and you were an inspiration. We also ave sons the same age. I am so sorry for your recent setbacks and I can only hope that the station good enough to get you will be smart enough to stream your show over the internet so we can listen.

Moby, I'm a yankee liberal who misses fighting with you every weekday morning. Even though I disagreed with you on many things, I cheered you on regarding the things that matter most--love of family, God and country. As the mother of a private and sister of a major in the army, I so appreciate your support of our troops. There were times you'd make me mad and times you made me laugh out loud on the way to work. Sometimes you brought me to tears. I can remember especially one morning when a lady called you after losing a family member. You sang to her the song "We'll understand it all by and by..." You were at your best in that powerful, touching moment. Thank you for sharing that big, 'onery, wonderful heart of yours with us for all those years. Blessings to you and Mary Beth. Jan

Houston Radio has not been the same with out ya. We need a good morning man Dean and Rog are good but nothing compares to the "Get your lazy asses outa bed!" and the never ending attemp at listerners trying to stump you with a joke. And Jon yelling NO! as you turned his mic down. Best of luck from TX to you where ever you may be.

Hi Moby - I've been a follower since you were on the air in Houston. As a matter of fact, my son, Cory, was born in Conroe, Texas, on September 17, 1985, a month or so after Jonah was born. If I remember, you lived not too far from Conroe - in Spring, Texas. I always enjoyed listening to you talk about Jonah at different ages because our two boys are so close in age and a lot of your stories sounded like things that were happening with my son. Our two Texas boys are special. I wish you the best and hope you are happy with whatever lies ahead for you. God bless.

Thanks for the great times! My family (2 great kids, a dog,and my best friend....my wife) moved up to suwanee from Ft. Lauderdale in '95. I remember we were at a local airport in Lawrencville to view the Hot-air baloons. Here comes one, pretty low, with this young boy (Jonah)yelling hello to all of us as we waved back. He yelled "this is Moby". It didn't mean a thing to us then. A few days later while surfing the radio air waves I ran across a morning team of folks that would turn out to be more than radio personalities...they became friends. Though we never had a chance to meet the rest of the team of Debra and Jim, we had numerous oportunities to meet Moby at the Cinco De Mayo celebrations. We will never forget those morning full of jokes, barbs between the 3 of you, the songs sung by you simply because you cared, the Scotsman's song, so many great times that simply put....made a difference in our day. We thank you for that. We've got the Moby CD's with the songs and stories that will always spark the memories, memories of good times with friends that made a difference our best to you and your family with hopes of someday hearing Yea Baby! once again.

Get in touch! I'm 43 years old and I've always been interested in music, mainly so-called the Southern Rock , Blues-Rock , JamBands , Blues and Jazz. And because of that, all the aspects of my professional life are closely connected with it. I've been working for a local radio station in Jarocin called JaRadio where I have my own show called "Rock Night with Pawel Michaliszyn." The music I present there is based around such bands like Gov't Mule, Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Widespread Panic, Rossington Collins Band,Blue Floyd,Blue Dogs, Smokin' Gun, Screamin' Cheetah,Frostbit Blue , W.I.N.D.,DTB, Point Blank, Outlaws,Grateful Dead, Weather Report, S.R. Vaughan, Wes Jeans, Joe Bonamassa, Wishbone Ash, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, and many more. Beside the radio station, I write to some music magazines: 'Twój Blues' (Your Blues). In every edition I have my own chapter – THE MAGIC OF WHITE SOUTH /blues-rock,southern rock, jam , blues , jazz etc/ I have also written a supplement to The Allman Brothers Band biography entitled "Midnight Rider", which includes the story of a band called Gov't Mule written by myself. Moreover I co-operate with the best Polish blues-rock band, Zdrowa Woda, which recorded Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Simple Man' with the Polish lyrics of mine, where I did try to perserve the atmosphere of Ronnie Van Zant's words. It can be found on their 2nd CD, 'Nie bój sie milosci" (SONY COLUMBIA). And in my home town I run the music store, of course with the 'quality' music. As far as Southern Rock and Blues Rock is concerned, it is very hard to get some of the records down here in Europe. Oftentimes, I have them shipped to me from Japan, which surely isn't a cheap way (e.g. Point Blank, Steve Gaines, 38 Special , Widespread Panic , Van Zant), but still many recordings are nearly impossible to get. And it's a shame I can't present such music for Polish listeners. I would love to continue playing in the radio and writing about that music and I would be immensely grateful if you could possibly send me any promo stuff, CD's, newsletters, or books of yours. Instead I can help promoting the bands in Polish radio as well as send you CD's of my country's best acts, some of which are real interesting. I am sure there are many more cool groups in the States besides well-known Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Bros., ZZ Top, or Molly Hatchet, and I would definitely do a lot to present them to listeners. Thank you in advance, and God bless you, Pawel Michaliszyn My address: 63-300 Pleszew Al. Wojska Polskiego 5-2 Poland [email protected] www.lynyrdskynyrd.prv.pl click -banner name MUZAK

Moby, Thanks for all the mornings. I am one of the many who listened to you for many years and never actually made contact until now. I don't listen to rock that much so I just figured out this week that you were gone. I would flip over to z93 just to hear you every now and again. I am from a small town just south of Nashville and barely remember you at KDF. You are an old friend that I will miss very much. You are a genuine man. Thanks for giving me a part of your life. Sorry for not telling you this until now. I didn't realize how important this was at the time. So, 7 - 8 years later... My wife was Jonah's nurse at Dr. Steven King's office off of Roswell Road. I don't know which doctor he was actually seeing. Anyway, She told me "I had a very polite little boy today and his name was Jonah." She said he really stood out from the other kids - especially that day. After we talked about him for a minute, we both looked at each other and said "Moby's kid!" Being a dad now, I know how much we like to hear about our kids when they are not with us. Keep your priorities and take care. God will help you find your way. GO VOLS, GOD BLES YOU, YEAH BABY! I do not know what goes on in this world of ours, and I sure don't now where it is headed, but we need more like you and you will be deeply missed, brother! I can now add Z93 to my list of banned stations on my truck radio! I wish you would just buy your own station, and be done with it!! I can't believe that you tried to feed the lions, but hey, it will be a great story to tell the grand kids.! I would like to ask that you stay in touch, but I know that is not very practical, so I will leave you with my best wishes for the best of luck in whatever you get into.! P.S.- I got the impression , from some things you said on the air one day, that you might have have had to put Barney down. If that was the case, I am so sorry to hear that. Take care, Yeah Baby!!!!!

Moby, I was browsing stations the first time I ran across your program on Kicks. After that, I listened almost daily. When you left I was shocked and was forced into contacting the station as to why you left and informed them I would no longer be a listener. Once again I was browsing and finally found you on Z93. I began listening to your show once again. Country and Rock, what's next? I did not always agree with your opinions but they were thought through and weren't just thrown out there. This is still America where we have the freedom of thought and speech. I hope that you will be able to stay in the Atlanta area and I will find you once again as I know I'll no longer be listening to Kicks or to Z93. I don't know if they realize how many listeners they loose by changing the show. Thank you for all you have done........ I will keep you and your family in my prayers and I wish you much success in your future endeavors. Pam P.S. Hope you are healing nicely from that ugly bite.

I am so frustrated with them. I don't know who to listen to in the morning's any more! I think I am resort to talk radio. Please let us know where you go to. Like Kicks, Z93 has made a terrible mistake. If the management would just look at how many posts have been sent to this site since April 14th they would realize that Moby brought many many more people to Z93 than left the station because of him. How can someone who has such a fan base and such love and dedication to a community be dismissed like he was? Moby is one of a kind. He can have me bawling my eyes out at something moving and compassionate that he has been a part of and then minutes later laughing til I cried again at something outrageously funny. Believe me, Maura doesn't even spark a smirk in me! There are times when good people are hurt for no reason at all and this is one of them. I know that there is a home for Moby somewhere. Where he can be treated by the management as he should be treated and where the management will recognize him for the truth and honesty he brings to his listeners each morning. My prayer is that this home is in Atlanta. I will forever be one of Moby's Peaches! Yeah Baby and Go Vols!

I sure hate to see this happen. Both my mother and I enjoyed your programs more thatn any others around. But I guess it is getting to the point that you can not express an opinion anymore. By the way the little 5 yr old girl that wanted to sing a song on your show on Z93 a couple of weeks ago was my granddaughter Brittany. We sure did appreciate you respoding to our e-mail you would be suprised to hear the people that we contacted that did not even respond back to say no. Thanks so much for all of your years on the radio and your years of caring. Carolyn Witt Fayetteville Ga

Mr. Moby, I was heart broken to hear you were not on Kicks any more and now not on Z93. I am in radio because of people like you! I was forced to move to Atlanta from Montana. It was hard for this country boy to be in the big city and even harder to get up for school in the morning you made them both a whole lot easier. My aunt got me an autograph picture of you that I still have proudly displayed. In High school I moved back to the big sky and got a job in radio and had my own morning show that I paderned after yours, hope you don,t mind. I know work for KCTR the #1 station in the state doing nights just like cadilac. In fact i'm typing this in the control room. I know how un kind this business is but I know you'll be back on the air soon!! If I ever get back to Atlanta I would love to buy you a rib dinner.I just hope I can some day be half the D.J. you are. Hope your lion bite gets better. Yeah Baby!!!! Jeff Womack

Moby, I listened to you at Kicks for years. I used to listen to Rock and Roll and you helped me convert to country music. One of my friends at work told me you were on Z93, so I listened to you there. I am not sure why you left KICKS. I complained to the management there when you left. It is not the same now. The new guys have big shoes to fill and they are not getting the job done. I wish you would let me know where you are heading. In any case, thanks for the memories. I can say that you brought enjoyment to my life. I wish there were more people in the world like you. Although we do not have a personal relationship, I would like to think that if we had met, we would have had a great friendship. Good luck in whatever endeavor you are making and thanks again!!!!

Well, I can certainly say that the world of radio is so boring without you, Moby. What is wrong with all of these negative people that do not think that you're the best DJ Atlanta had in the morning. Since you came to Atlanta and I believe it was in 1991, I was radio surfing one morning and I started listening to you and have continued to do so. We all miss our wake up call's such as YEAH BABY and GET YOUR LAZY BUTT'S out of the bed. And we must not forget the SCOTSMAN SONG and "I CAN'T HELP WHAT TIME IT IS, IT'S TIME TO GET GOING EVERYBODY". This is something that not only myself miss, but your many, many other fans as I have read. The mornings in Atlanta on the radio are not and will not ever be the same w/o hearing you. We do hope that you land at another radio staion in the metro Atlanta area. We all miss and love ya, Moby as we always have and will. God bless you and your family abundantly.

Moby, as a fellow Tennessean from Knoxville, now living in Lawrenceville, I have listened to you for all of the eight years that I have lived here. It was bad enough that Kicks let you go and I followed you over to Z93 and now this. I am devastated by all of these happenings. You know you always hear that this is a changing world we live in, well, maybe so, but, give us a break and recognize the sincerity, honest, humor of a very kind and compassionate man such as you. I will miss you and I would certainly pray that you will be resurrected again to the airwaves of Atlanta. My prayers are for your full recovery from the lion bite and wishes for God's blessings upon you and your family. Moby, you are the best. Thanks for all of the memories. By the way, you sang happy birthday to my mother in 1998, and I will always remember that as she is an angel in heaven watching us. God bless Charles L. McPhetridge

Moby - you always used to talk about how you hated cats. And see, your original feelings were right! You let a woman soften you up to cats, and looked what happened! :) No really, it's not funny and I truly hope you are okay. I miss you so bad on KICKS - I never really thought Z93 was right for you, but I listened anyway and suffered through the Beatles so I could hear you every morning. My kids have grown up listening to you. We have all laughed with you, cried with you, cursed you, and always loved you no matter what. Two things come to my mind when I think of you - Parenting and Patriotism. I learned alot from you about both. Please keep the website going so we know where you are. I'll be waiting for your return to mornings. If you have to move to another state (good timing if you do with Jonah graduating and joining the service) I may just have to pack up and move too! I will miss you that much. Please take care and come back soon!

We don't know what transpired at Z93 but are sure that they are suffering from losing you. Thank you for all you have done for so many charitable organizations and thank you for not being afraid to speak about God, and country, and sick children, and all the other unpopular, politically incorrect things you voiced your opinion on. It is encouraging to us that there are so many others out there that believe the way we do! Thanks again for your dedication and giving. We love you!

Moby, Jimmy Baron here. I know that this has not been a great month and I want to just show my support for you. At the end of the day, while there's certainly stiff competition, we're all in the same business and those of us on the air have a very common bond. You are a true professional and I wish you the best. We all know you will land on your feet. On another note, when I heard about getting bit by the lion I assumed it was just a few puncture wounds and maybe a bruise. I was absolutely sickened when I saw the exact extent of your wounds. UNBELIEVABLE. If I send people to your webpage to take a look would you be willing to talk to us about it on our show? I'd love to hear what they had to do to put you back together. Let me know. Thanks, Jimmy

Mornings will never be same without the "Scotsman Song", Sex wars, the "yeah baby!"'s, and everything else that makes your show so great. Your roots may have been rock and roll, but you sound more at home on country radio. I still miss the days of your parody songs. I wish you would let Linda set up links to some of those as real audio or MP3 for us to listen to while you're away from the mic. So would you consider going back to KICKS when (not if) they decide to get rid of the dynamic-less duo? Their end has GOT to be coming soon! How about a little internet radio? I know, you might want to pay some bills from time to time. Just go "on the web" until you go back "on the air". Anyway good luck to all in Moby manor and by the way - what in the heck was you doing so close to a lion to begin with??? The "Moby Militia" is waiting. Yeah Baby...

I will be at your bass tourny and hopeing it won't be your last or that you will have to leave the Atl area. My best wishes to you,Mary Beth and Jhonna and I know he will make you proud as he has all these yrs. Hope to be hearing form you on the radio and best of luck where ever your travels take you. You made me laugh and cry...and sometimes wonder what in the h... were you thinking of! But I still listened. Being a country music fan, I was disappointed when you "left" KICKS, but elated when I found you on Z93. I have never been a real fan of classic rock, but I followed you there, since I was happy to have my morning companion back. I am devasted that you aren't there with me anymore, but I do wish you the very best and I know that many more people feel just as I do. Good luck to you and your family. Becky

But the things you did for Atlanta, and the many times you brought tears to my eyes, whether from laughter or sorrow, will never be forgotten. You have an open invitation to come to our home in Riverdale any time you and your lovely family would like to visit. I still miss you terribly on Kicks....can't listen to those folks.....with a terrible adversion to rock music I tried to listen to you but just couldn't take the music !!!! I'm not listening to either WSB AM or 94.9 Lite FM (auuuughghghg) The lion bite photos are gruesome ! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and good luck finding the next job of your "dreams". God Bless you and your family ! Sandy

Moby, I'd obviously stopped listening the radio since I was still checking Z93 each morning just to see if you were back from your lion bite. How sad that you have exited Atlanta radio. I don't know the details but the fact that you're gone enlightens me on the quality of leadership at Z93. You will be thoroughly missed. Hang in there. You're a great talent and better humanitarian. Dear Moby, I listened to you for years on kicks (even though I am not the biggest country fan) and then was thrilled to hear you on Z93. I am so sorry to not hear your voice every morning anymore. My mornings are just not the same. I pray God blesses your future. I know he has already greatly blessed you and will continue to do so. Yeah baby!!!

Dear Moby, I miss Moby In The Morning! I do not know the circumstances of why you are no longer with Z93, but I can tell you I no longer listen to that station. I do not like the new format and I certainly miss you in the morning. My husband and I have listened to that station for years, but will now find a new station to listen to. I wish you all the best. You made my mornings! Just know you do have the support of many loyal fans. God bless and keep you as you move forward and begin a new phase in your life. Sincerely, Sharon Nester

Moby, I sure hope to hear you some where in Atlanta again very soon. I just through writing a very long letter to Z93 to tell them what I think of the new morning show. It is awful. I heard about the lion bite and wondered if you would be OK and then I heard you one day and you were gone the next. Then on Monday a new show. They are not what I want to hear in the morning. I have been one of your many listeners since day one. I saw your billboards before you got and then tuned in to see who you were. Then I was hooked. I listened to Jonah grow up and the divorce and I even shook your hand once. It was not long after you lost Momma Moby. Boy how I cried when you talked about her, see I had lost my Mom a few years earlier and it made it hurt again. For me and for you, because I truly knew how you felt. Moby I don't know radio politics but you are loved by you listeners and will be missed more than you know. Please find a place to call home here in Atlanta and we will follow you there. I wish you and your wife Maryanne and son Jonah all the best. Please keep your family and friends updated with where you are and how you are doing. GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES! Shirley Law

It has been a pleasure to listen to Moby for his entire radio stint here in Atlanta. I returned to Atlanta fter a 12 year stay in the Marine Corps and his was the first Atlanta radio voice I heard. His support of our troops and the causes which he spent his time and efforts on are an example for everyon to follow. He will be missed by all. Moby you have shown what is good and right with yourself, your family and in a great way with America. I pray that you will be blessed and I hope that if you wish you will find your way back to the Atlanta airwaves soon. Semper Fi

Hey Moby...it'll be ok. Glad to hear you give thanks for your wife, family. I give thanks for you, for all you've done. Something will come along, and you'll look back and be thankful. (After 38 years SunTrust gave me a massive paycut, I retired along with some others, then they laid off everyone left in the department. But I found a better place to work, my blood pressure went down, etc.etc.) You have a wonderful voice, have touched so many; have faith and lots of us will be saying your name every morning or evening. God bless.

Moby, I just finished reading your letter to your radio family and I must tell you how upset I am at the recent events that have taken place concerning your career. You BELONG on radio. I've listened to you since 1996 when my husband and I first moved to Atlanta, first on KICKS and then on Z93. I have expressed my disgust to Z93 via e-mail several times. I have also removed them from the preset on my car stereo. I am assuming from your letter that you are retiring. I wish you, Mary Beth and Jonah all the best. Enjoy life and stay away from large cats with big teeth!!! (Pretty impressive "war wound" you've got!)

I wish to hell I had the money and the means to own a radio station here in Atlanta. Trust me when I say we are the poorer for not having you here, and whoever is fortunate enough to get you will be the better for it.I wish you well and will keep you in my prayers. jeff claeson by the way i will no longer listen to z-93

Hi Moby, I am sorry to hear that you are again out of work. I love your funny and caring way but have to admit the last gig (Z93) was not you! I hope that you find work again soon and let me know where you are. I am currently traveling a lot but I have access to the Internet all the time, maybe your new employer will be on the Internet and we (Atlantians) can listen to our favorite disc jockey again even if he is out of our area. Would appreciate if you can stay in touch and I wish you and your family well. Also pls make sure that you keep at least this website so we can stay in touch with you. Everytime you disappear of the radio at least we can find you here. By the way, suggest you keep your hands from the big Pussy Cats! Wish you well. Talk to you soon. Brgds Daniel Lumpert

Mr. Moby will you please keep your website up and running so that we will know how you are and what you're doing. Selfishly, it saddens me that my mornings will no longer have Moby in the Morning to wake me up and get me going. I'm going to miss you. Not only the radio voice but the man Mr. Moby. God created a gem when he created you and I'm so glad that our paths crossed. As I've stated many times before -- there is a bigger and better place for Mr. Moby and a new chapter to be written, I just hope I can follow it as it unfolds. My wish for you is to have your own station that you can do what you want and play the music of your chose. Tell the stories of your listeners, cry with us, laugh with us, and make fun of us, but mostly take care of us..... I keep waiting for your military friends and public saftey friends to get together and start a new FM station called WRWB - RED, WHITE and BLUE @ 1776 on your dial ---- the moto --- may you bleed RED, WHITE and BLUE and may your colors fly freely. If you love RED, WHITE and BLUE you love God and country and what more is there .... everything else falls into place. God Bless you Mr. Moby Love, Mary Ann Keeney

The radio business must be a strange one. People leave without a trace, and are usually never hear from again. No explanation, no excuses, no apologies. I remember many of my favorite people, whom I've never met, just disappearing, only to be replaced with "another dancin' chicken". I miss your voice in my mornings, as I listened five days a week from 6:00 until you said goodbye. Take care, friend. I hope to hear you again soon. Until then, thank you for maintaining this web site which allows all of your fans to keep in touch with you in their own way. YEAH BABY!

I WORKED AT VIACON WHEN YOU FIRST CAME TO ATLANTA (WATCH FOR MOBY) AND STAYED WITH YOU THUR YOUR YEARS WITH KICKS FOR 12 YEARS. I WAS LAYED OFF FROM VIACON RIGHT BEFORE YOU LEFT KICKS, AND THEN YOU WENT ON Z93 I QUIT LISTENING TO KICKS AND STARTED LISTENING TO 93 (EVEN THOUGH I STILLED LIKE BILL CELLARS). I was shocked to see the pictures of your injury, you can take an animal out of the wild but you can never take the wild out of the animal...the cat must have known filet mignon when he smelled it! As far as not being on Atlanta radio, I will miss you as I am sure true Atlantans will, or I should change that to true Southerners. It just shows how the South has changed and coming from a native, not for the best. It's rare to find someone that has true heart and that person is you. How is it that the radio stations in Atlanta cater to the young or perverted, when the demographics of this area are baby boomers like myself that control a major, major portion of the money as consumers?

Moby, I have been a slient follower for many years. Wherever you are is where I will be. I am not at all happy and am deeply confused as to what happened. I loved the morning show with you and mac (as I did with you and Jim) and to put it simply "I aint happy!". My husband is a lawenforcement officer and as you know we don't have too many supporters. But you have always been there for us! My love to you and your family! And you tell Jonah I could not be prouder if he were my own! I may have not always agreed with you and I sometimes knew right off if you said something you shouldn't have, but I always applauded your right to do so! Please let me know if you can ,whats happened now, and if we as listeners can help in any way. Let us know where you are and if I have to buy a confounded tower to reach you I will. I'm lost. I don't have a radio station to listen to in the mornings... I guess I will have to listen to my three year olds cd's that consist of Old MacDonald, the Hokey Pokey etc. I have a 45 mile commute.. I will miss you Moby. I have listened to you for the past 7 years, I didn't alway agree with you but enjoyed listening all the same. You took the time and sang Amazing Grace for me when my best friend was killed in an auto accident almost five years ago, I hope you realize how much that meant to me at the time. I will never forget. I will visit the webb site, please update us on your condition (you know, the lion nip). And let us know of any future career developments. I miss hearing you on country radio. You are such an important part of Atlanta radio, and you have so many fans here. I hope to hear your voice again when I'm flipping though the stations. Mr. Moby - My mom e-mailed you earlier this evening and I wanted to send my best wishes and a speedy recovery to you after reading about your injury. I met several years ago and even sat on your lap at the "Festival Of Trees" - we still have the picture framed in my room, as that was the first time I'd ever met a "celebrity" - I am now 14 and listened to you every morning on my way to school and even when I was out, I'd get up just to hear you - especially the "Scotsman's Song" - KICKS & Z-93 needs to regroup and find some type of management with some common sense - you were born, bred and raised country - just like me - I plan on pursuing a career in Sports Broadcasting - so I hope I don't run into the same guys who thought you were "too country". I hope that you are able to stay in the Atlanta area and we are able to listen to you again - My mom mentioned that I play traveling fastpitch softball and cannot come and see you at your tournament, but I wanted you to know that you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you the very best with everything life has to offer. Please let us know, somehow, where you will go - as we will follow, if we possibly can. We're actually looking into relocating to TN this summer, so maybe that could be an area that would appreciate you - just as you deserve! Take care of your arm and stay strong - life doesn't give you more than you handle - it just seems to test you more than necessary sometimes.

Moby - I've followed you through the years and even though I've changed e-mail addresses - I've remained loyal to you through all that you and your family have endured throughout these past several months. I was recently in Chattanooga and met one of your friends, Harry, from US101 in Chattanooga - he summed up what you truly are to the ones of us that have been and will always be "your radio family" - he said he'd never met anyone with the talent and ability that you possess and without a doubt you were one of the nicest guys and had one of the biggest hearts of anyone in the "radio world" - not to mention our everyday life. We talked about KICKS losing the best DJ they could ever had and just what you meant to the "country radio audience". I know that there is a reason that everything happens and if you can look at it in any positive way right now - there's something bigger and better for you out there. As for Z93 - they did not deserve your talent, and I've expressed my opinion to them, just as I did KICKS! I don't know where you'll go in life, but with the faith, love and support of your family and dear friends - you'll come out on top! I wished we could attend your Bass Tournament, but my daughter plays traveling fastpitch softball and even though we've seen you out in public many times, this is one that we'll have to miss - as we have a tournament in Chattanooga that weekend - so we both wish you the best of luck and hope that somehow, someway you will keep your website and continue to be a part of our lives, whom you've touched so deeply. God Bless You and Your Family!

I was so happy to find you after you left KICKS. I stopped listening to them after you left and I have to admit the only time I listened to Z93 was when you were on in the morning. I only work the early shift a couple of days a week so I did not find out till Wed about the change. I am so sorry and I wish you the best always. If you end up back on the air in Atlanta I will rejoice but if not may you land some where full of joy and fun

Where's my Moby?! I don't know how they get their facts and figures but I don't think they do it the right way! Have they stopped to think that everything that goes on on our time schedule has been slack since 9/11?! Hello...let's think about the reality of it, not as many people are working now!! Would you be up with us at 0300 if you didn't have a job to go to?! I didn't get a survey card or call to ask me what my mornings were with Moby and they dang sure didn't ask me if I would be a better person without Moby!! Moby you have been the BEST cup of coffee that a person could get at our hours of the day!!! I know that in the years that you have been on the air that you have gotten me thru some rough times as well as everyone in the sound of your voice..They can call us whatever they want to, but have the decision making people listened to all the early morning shows?! You and Debra and Jim have been the only people that I have found that did not sound like you were trying so hard to be this perfessional voice that you forgot to be you!!!! Mackinze and Williard and classic rock took some getting used to but being a strong Moby militia fan,,,,it was worth the change!!! THERE IS ABSOLUTLEY NO GOOD MORNING SHOW TO LISTEN TO IN ATLANTA!!!!!WE HAVE TO HAVE MOBY BACK!!!!!!! puppet's roommate writes: You have to come back. She has been a real baby since you have been gone. We went on vacation and you left Kicks and now you are not on the Z anymore. I always enjoyed your humor and your comments regarding life. It was nice to hear someone who was like me -- just a country gal (guy) who made it in the city but didn't lose their country ways. Hope you find a place that can appreciate you for yourself and that you can still be a part of our mornings. YEAH BABY!!!!!!

I hope you are feeling better soon! Please Moby, find a place here in Atlanta that we can hear you on! Your dedication to you listeners, your personnal stories and songs make you who you are and truthfully, make us want to listen to you. You make us sit up and take notice. Moby, You have touched so many lives and accomplished so many great things here in Atlanta and I know that there will be other greater opportunities for a gentleman like you. I read your farwell letter and it brought a tear to my eye. Because of you, "Scattered Thieves" the opening act for The Artimus Pyle Band is getting an opportunity of a life time. I have had my 15 minutes of fame but for several members of the band this is the chance of a life time. I owe it all to you and whatever I can do to give back or repay you, just give me a call! Yeah, I'm an olde Virginia gentleman and I believe in doing the right thing, so who ever reads this letter come out to Moby's 11th Annual Bass Tournament and let's all help support the United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia organization with gifts of money and share some great music and fireworks with the biggest and koolest bash of the Spring, here in Georgia!

I am sure you are being bombarded with e-mails at this point, but want to say how much I miss you on the radio. You are an Atlanta icon! Any chance you will re-emerge on another Atlanta station? I hope you will keep your web site updated as I (and I'm sure many others) will check it regularly for news about you and your wonderful family. Maybe this is a sign that you are supposed to move on to bigger and better things. You have so much to offer - as your wonderful letter states. Good luck to you and keep us (your "fan friends") posted.

Then you went to z_93,& I just reversed my listening times. I think everyone who first listened to you @ Z-93 was shocked @ hearing you do a different floor matt, I know I was, but you got better & I started to enjoy it more. HATE TO SEE YOU GO. This is the first chance I have had to take a look at the website and realized you were no longer at Z-93. I may not always agree with your opinions, but I have the utmost respect for you and the way you are willing to openly speak your truth. You have touched so many lives and will be dearly missed. Please keep your site updated so we know where to find you next. I wish you a speady physical recovery and in all areas of your life. Thank you again for being who you are! I hate to hear that you will no longer be on Atlanta radio. When I moved back to Georgia, you had been on Kicks for one year. I enjoyed listening to you, Deborah and Jim every morning. You made me laugh, cry and even think. I loved how you were part of the community and made us one big family. When you left Kicks, I kept my ears open to find out where you would return. So when I found out you were at Z93, I started listening to you on my way to work (couldn't pick up the station at work). I loved listening to you because you are real. I might not agree with every comment you made but you always willing to listen to the other side. I will miss you. Take care. Hope you, Mary Beth and Jonah will be blessed you in future endeavors. Dear Moby; I can't tell how sad it makes me to think of Atlanta radio without you! I was listening your first morning on KICKS. I moved away and was dismayed to find out that you were no longer there. Then I was thrilled when I saw that you were resurfacing on Z93. I remember your wonderful sense of humor and how you cut thru the BS to get right to the heart of things. My kids, who were very small when you first came to Atlanta have really come to like you this spring when you moved to classic rock (they are both big Beatle fans). I am the Minister of Music at Hull Baptist just out of Athens and would like to extend an invitation for you and Mary Beth to come to our church to share your talents and story if you are ever in this area. I know you get a million of these but perhaps now that you are not on the radio anymore there is a new phase opening up for you. You never know. I will be praying for you and Mary Beth. Of course, I am selfish enough to want to keep you in this area because I believe you have so much more to give but whatever ya'll decide, know that we here in the old Kytonen house love you guys and hope someday to meet ya'll. Thanks Moby. You are the best! Dennis Kytonen

Moby, I can't imagine what happened that was so bad you had to leave the morning spot on Z93! I admit to some initial skepticism when you first started, but you won me over. I looked forward to your enthusiasm and silliness each morning. I really liked "Southern at 7" and no one else can do that justice (but they could at least play the songs, couldn't they?). "Lyrical Pursuit" was great and I even liked "Fact or Bull Crap." I appreciated that you are an unabashed patriot and I enjoyed the interviews with our military. I will miss your wit and, yes, charm. If there is any way to get you back on the air at Z93, I want to know how. You can bet I'll voice my opinion to management. Take care and keep touching lives - you do it well. Thanks for everything! Moby, What is one to say? I feel like I know you even though we have never met. We have sons close to the same age and mine wants to join the service after he graduates next year. When I heard you announce that Jonah is going into the service when he graduates this year, it just hit so close to home... the pride, and fear that you must be feeling. When you left Kicks, I left Kicks and moved my dial to Z-93. I have of course left that behind me now too. My mornings just aren't the same without you. Moby- Just found out yesterday that the new Z morning show doesn't include you. Well, that's ok, because it won't include me either. I'm lost without you in the mornings! No matter what life holds for you and your family now, you will ALWAYS have a special place in all our hearts. You are what America is all about and especially during this time of crisis, Z93 is crazy to let you go. I hope to read your website soon to see where you go next.... I'll be right there with you -- along with thousands of other listeners. Kicks and Z93 have both made a bad decision... now when I want to listen to country, I tune in to Eagle 106 and when I want to listen to rock and roll, I'll tune in to 96rock. Or maybe I'll just listen to my favorite CD's. If I can't hear you, I'll just stock up on CD's. I sure wonder how their advertisers feel??? I was very good friends of Andy and Karen Guzman whom we lost several years ago. Through both of them, I always felt like I knew you. All I know is that you are a survivor and all of us will ALWAYS support you in whatever you do and wherever you go. Please keep your website updated... we always will want to know where you are and how you and your family are doing. You ARE family to thousands! Best of luck to you!

Moby, I was devastated when you left Kicks - it was and has never been the same. I always felt that, while you did a great job on Z93, it just wasn't the right fit for you. You are much more suited to country, in my opinion, because it represents SO much more than just the style of music. My morning rides to work simply have not been the same. I just read your beautiful letter on your website, and can't quite figure out your bottom line. Are you planning to get out of radio altogether? I hope not, but by the grace of God and with the support of your loving family and loyal fans, I'm sure you will land in a situation far more in line with your character and the kind of man we know you are. God does provide, and timing is everything. You are SO loved in Atlanta, and I'm sure your talents will not go unnoticed for long. You have the rare gift of touching peoples' lives in the most positive and compassionate way. Please keep your website updated and let us, your loyal and dedicated fans and listeners, now what is happening in your life. I personally wish you and your family all the best in whatever God leads you to do. And P.S., so sorry to hear of the lion bite - must have been very scary but I thought it was great that you did not wish to name where it happened - another testament to your character. Take good care, and know that there are many, many people praying for you.

I can't believe you are gone again!!! What is wrong with these stations? You are the best and thousands of listeners feel as I do. I quit Kicks and changed to Z 93 because of you and when you go back on the air, that is the station that I and thousands of listeners will tune to. I can't stand the clowns that are on either of those stations now. Good luck and I hope you will be back bigger and better very soon. Dear Moby. I was so shocked to hear about the news. You are truly missed by many people. I hate this corporate world! I really enjoyed you on KICKS and Z93. KICKS is not the same without either. They have become much to sophmorish. I love country music but I don't like listening to their jabber. I was so happy to hear you on Z93. I wasn't as crazy about the music but I enjoyed hearing your voice. Please let me know what you are doing. I feel like I already know you. One of these days I can meet you in person and give you a great big hug. You know, things have a way of working out. I truly think things happen for a reason (whatever that reason is!). Good luck to you and stay in touch with us. We love you!

Dear Sir, I am a Army Medic in Kuwait and I have been deployed here for over 6 months in the defence of our country and our way of life. We don't understand why some of the people back home are acting the way they are about us doing our jobs. I would like for them to come over here and wear my boots for a while and see the suffering that we have of the Iraqi people and the damage that has been done over here. But that is ok for this reason alone we as soliders know why we do what we do because it is for our family's and our friends and for all of the ungreatfull people that enjoy the FREEDOM THAT WE PROVIDE FOR THEM. Thank you sir for all that you and your show has done and will always do for us in the military. your friend James...

The best thing about moving back to Atlanta in 2001 was that I would get to hear Moby again. I was so excited this morning (4/16/03) because I got up early to walk on the treadmill and I would get to listed to Moby, which I knew would make the time enjoyable. I was SHOCKED to hear Mara, the most annoying voice in radio, instead of "The Man". Moby, I love you tons, always will, and please let me know where you wind up. My morning isn't the same without you! Guess I'll just have to play my Buffett CD's on the way to work now! Love ya, Peaches!!!!

What a crock this all is. the morning show on kicks SUCKS since they got stupid and the whole station is trying to become the star94 of country. All show, no substance. And while after all those years at kicks, I never thought you really should be @ the Z, but to replace you with that prefabricated Mara Davis and the NEVERENDINGLY boring Dunham! Do they drug test there?

Mr. Moby I miss you - the mornings are not the same. The highlight of my morning was turning on the radio and hearing your voice, hearing your stories and your callers calling in with all the stuff that we've grown to love about your show. As our country went to war -- your voice and your friends calling were uplifting -- I felt connected to the men and women that were servicing in our armed forces. I don't know what happened at the radio station nor do I care at this point - all I know is my MOBY isn't there and the rest is garbage! It's their loss not your's. You will arise as you've always done. May God Bless you in this time of need and my HE help guide you in your journey -- as you write the new chapter of "MOBY in the Morning" book of life. YEAH BABY! Hi Moby, I turned my radio on Monday morning expecting to hear "my" Moby; what a shock to hear Mara touting that we were listening to the "NEW Z93 in the MORNING" What is this about...is Moby alright...should I be worried... Where are you, & what the heck happened? I spoke with you the previous Thurs. morning & you seemed tired, in pain, but overall Moby was on the air & all was right with the world. I followed you from one station to another--willing to listen to Classic Rock if it meant having you to start my day with. I am already suffering from withdrawal symptoms; without my daily Moby "fix". Please respond & tell me what is up with all this.... Missing you, Pat aka: pattywhack aka: spyplane aka: spy

Well, like the listener below, I do hate to see something so bad happen to anyone, but I must agree that maybe Z was not the right place for you. I am sure there is a station out there where you will fit in just fine though. I do think that there was a serious lack of chemistry between you and McKenzie. It's too bad this had to happen though -- the time wasted at Z could have been used to reinvent yourself somewhere more suitable. Anyway, best of luck in the future.

Good luck with whatever you take on. I was really shocked to get in my car @ 6:00 Monday morning and not hear you or even MacKenzie. I love Mara's show but I miss your morning humor and music choices. I haven't been impressed with the New Z93 yet. As a 40 Something some of the music is a little hard to swallow. Once again Good Luck!

Mr. Moby, I have been a long time fan and have followed your career for just about 20 years in the Atlanta area and followed you from one station to another. I hope you are doing well, I don't know all the details of your accident, but I hope you are recovering quickly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and hope that this new career change will be a good one for you. God Bless.

I don't know the demographics of kicks orz93. I am a male professional that earns over 150k that listened to you for the humor and offbeat songs at both stations and listened to Mara at lunch for the theme creativity. I think for 6am they have Mara mismatched, and I thought it would take a little while for you to settle in. I noticed you dropped all refercences to faith once you were on a rock station--hummm?

Moby, I feel like a ping pong ball bouncing from radio station to radio station (as I'm sure you do). Nothing has been the same since you left KICKS -- I had the best of both worlds then: MOBY and Country music! I stopped listening to the radio all together when you left, and had just started back trying to get used to classic rock. Guess I will have to take another sabitical from the radio until you show up again. I hope it's soon! I miss you already -- your VERY loyal fan ALWAYS, Alysia Wood (Duluth, GA)

Moby The radio biz is ALWAYS changing. I was a fan of Dan Morino and did not welcome or listen to your morning show. It is unfortunate though that had they never fired Dan you would not have had to go through this (again). You are TOO country for a classic rock station, get over it. Maybe talk radio would be more of your genre. I am a firm believer that GOD has a plan for everyone and there are plenty of adversities along the way, but in the end you will be right where He wants you to be. Go with the flow And may God bless you and your family.

However I do know both stations have made a huge mistake by forcing you to make a career change. I hope and pray you will stay in the area because it would not be the same without Moby in the Morning. Thanks, Robbie

I don't know what's going on, but I know I miss you on the morning show! I have always listened to Z93, loving the classic rock (I'm 50) as it reflects my favorite memories. I first became aware of you when I switched to country in the early nineties and heard you on 101.5. From that point, even if I wasn't into country, I always enjoyed your morning show on the way to work. But, I was drawn back to my classic rock and Z93, so it was wonderful when I tuned in one morning to find you doing a morning show - now I had the best it all - classic rock and your show. And I have to say, the one part of the day that I would turn the volume down on my radio was during the lunch hour with Mara Davis - I can't stand her!!! She's silly, obnoxious, and has nothing valuable to say as far as I'm concerned. And I certainly don't want to listen to her in the morning - I'm not a morning person and she irritates me! From this faithful (but now not so sure) listener, you will be sorely missed! I will keep checking your website because I'm sure you will re-emerge somewhere on the radio (I hope)! For now, I will continue to tune to Z93 because I have roots there, but I am not happy with the changes! Thank you and good luck to you - I know you will be fine.

Moby, darlin......I am so disapointed in Z93......... I thought I had found a place where I could enjoy your wit and your humor as well as some good old fashioned rock n' roll! With the new line up, it is apparent that I can do neither on that particular station........I seems that Z93 has some lessons still to learn about keeping listeners and it seems they are bound and determined to learn those lessons the hard way! I echo the feelings of those who have posted before me.... Please take care and let us know where we can hear you again! Ruthie

hello moby. i hope you are doing well. i got to tell you, i'm one of those people that hates change. now i'm a big country music fan and i love classic rock but the main reason i even tuned to either station was because thats where you were. i don't know what happen but it pissies me off to start to work every morning and your not there to help start my day. i'm a 49 year old man. you may think its strange for me to feel this way but i've been around for a while now and listened to a lot of DJ's in my day and never enjoyed one as much as i have you. i must know where you are and what your doing. please don't move out of state or to another city because i'm just not up to moving. my whole family missies you and i know you don't remember us but we see you every year at the ga, special olympics. my wife is Kathy simpson from henry co. and my little girl is jessie. we all love you moby and hope to not only hear you but see you again. so until then you take care of yourself and let me know whats up. Moby, what is up with the radio management morons around here? We are in the South. Since when is it a crime to be Southern and sound Southern. I am from California so I don't qualify as a Yankee. So I can say the Carpetbaggers are back again. Go get them. I cried when I heard that obnoxious Mara on the radio. Why does rock have to be that way. I like your warm, real, and friendly ways. Moby, What a great story to tell people in the future when they look at that scar on your arm - "I got bit by a lioness!" You, Makenzie and the gang are great in the mornings - makes the drive in Atlanta traffic alot easier. So many times I'm laughing out loud. People in other cars think I'm crazy. More Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Buffett! Z93 is GREAT and hope "the Moby team" stays a long, long time!

You make my commute easier sitting in the parking lot called 75 North. Like many others I followed you to Z93 and I forgot all the good music from my high school days. Love ya and keep up the good work to the best morning crew in Atlanta!!

I'm not sure whether you will remember me or not, but I first met you at Cops & Lobsters on P'tree Ind Blvd, reintroduced myself to you at the ampitheatre and again at the Chili Cook-Off. I met you, before you and Mary Beth married, at Cops & Lobsters first and talked to you about getting married and having sons already in the picture. At Hi-Fi Buys I also had the pleasure of meeting the other Mary Beth (I introduced myself to you at Cops & Lobsters and let you know my given name was also Mary Elizabeth)and had the good fortune of also meeting Jonah. At the Chili Cook-Off the terrorism had already happened and I'm the original GA peach who had flags on her nails, and also tried Deborah's brunswick stew. Well, I'm still wearing flags! Can't seem to shake the Hippie 14th street atmosphere from myself even though I am almost 53. Haven't missed a day with my flags! And best of all, I still listen to Moby in the Morning now that he moved to Z93 with the rest of the radio personalities I've known since they started in Atlanta. I'm Atlanta born & breed (a gleam in my Daddy's eye on P'tree St. hatched at Crawford Long in 1950) and very proud of our city. I am so thrilled to finally have all my radio personalities together, Moby, Katey, Willard and so on. Now, I can even be a super proud friend to another newer addition to z93 and that is Chris James (does "Eye on Atlanta" early on Sundays) the son of a close friend and he is now at z93 also. Just wanted you to know, I'm still around

Moby, I thought you might find this interesting: You have to read this one. Very interesting. By Cindy Osborne The Hollywood group is at it again. Holding anti-war rallies, screaming about the Bush Administration, running ads in major newspapers, defaming the President and his Cabinet every chance they get, to anyone and everyone who will listen. They publicly defile them and call them names like "stupid," "morons," and "idiots." Jessica Lange went so far as to tell a crowd in Spain that she hates President Bush and is embarrassed to be an American. So, just how ignorant are these people who are running the country? Let's look at the biographies of these "stupid," "ignorant," "moronic" leaders, and then at the celebrities who are castigating them: President George W. Bush: Received a Bachelors Degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He served as an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard. He began his career in the oil and gas business in Midland in 1975 and worked in the energy industry until 1986. He was elected Governor on November 8, 1994, with 53.5 percent of the vote. In a historic reelection victory, he became the first Texas Governor to be elected to consecutive four-year terms on November 3, 1998, winning 68.6 percent of the vote. In 1998 Governor Bush won 49 percent of the Hispanic vote, 27 percent of the African-American vote, 27 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of women. He won more Texas counties, 240 of 254, than any modern Republican other that Richard Nixon in 1972 and is the first Republican gubernatorial candidate to win the heavily Hispanic and Democratic border counties of El Paso, Cameron and Hidalgo. (Someone began circulating a false story about his I.Q. being lower than any other President. If you believed it, you might want to go to URBANLEGENDS.COM and see the truth.) Vice President Dick Cheney earned a B.A. in 1965 and a M.A. in 1966, both in political science. Two years later, he won an American Political Science Association congressional fellowship. One of Vice President Cheney's primary duties is to share with individuals, members of Congress and foreign leaders, President Bush's vision to strengthen our economy, secure our homeland and win the War on Terrorism. In his official role as President of the Senate, Vice President Cheney regularly goes to Capitol Hill to meet with Senators and members of the House of Representatives to work on the Administration's legislative goals. In his travels as Vice President, he has seen first hand the great demands the war on terrorism is placing on the men and women of our military, and he is proud of the tremendous job they are doing for the United States of America. Secretary of State Colin Powell was educated in the New York City public schools, graduating from the City College of New York (CCNY), where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in geology. He also participated in ROTC at CCNY and received a commission as an Army second lieutenant upon graduation in June 1958. His further academic achievements include a Masters of Business Administration Degree from George Washington University. Secretary Powell is the recipient of numerous U.S. and foreign military awards and decorations. Secretary Powell's civilian awards include two Presidential Medals of Freedom, the President's Citizens Medal, the Congressional Gold Medal, the Secretary of State Distinguished Service Medal, and the Secretary of Energy Distinguished Service Medal. Several schools and other institutions have been named in his honor and he holds honorary degrees from universities and colleges across the country. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld attended Princeton University on Scholarship (AB, 1954) and served in the U.S. Navy (1954-57) as a Naval aviator; Congressional Assistant to Rep. Robert Griffin (R-MI), 1957-59; U.S. Representative, Illinois, 1962-69; Assistant to the President, Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity, Director of the Cost of Living Council, 1969-74; U.S. Ambassador to NATO, 1973-74; head of Presidential Transition Team, 1974; Assistant to the President, Director of White House Office of Operations, White House Chief of Staff, 1974-77; Secretary of Defense, 1975-77. Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge was raised in a working class family in veterans' public housing in Erie. He earned a scholarship to Harvard, graduating with honors in 1967. After his first year at The Dickinson School of Law, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served as an infantry staff sergeant in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star for Valor. After returning to Pennsylvania, he earned his Law Degree and was in private practice before becoming Assistant District Attorney in Erie County. He was elected to Congress in 1982. He was the first enlisted Vietnam combat veteran elected to the U.S. House, and was overwhelmingly reelected six times. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice earned her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Denver in 1974; her Masters from the University of Notre Dame in 1975; and her Ph.D. from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver in 1981. (Note: Rice enrolled at the University of Denver at the age of 15, graduating at 19 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science (Cum Laude). She earned a Master's Degree at the University of Notre Dame and a Doctorate from the University of Denver's Graduate School of International Studies. Both of her advanced degrees are also in Political Science.) She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has been awarded Honorary Doctorates from Morehouse College in 1991, the University of Alabama in 1994, and the University of Notre Dame in 1995. At Stanford, she has been a member of the Center for International Security and Arms Control, a Senior Fellow of the Institute for International Studies, and a Fellow (by courtesy) of the Hoover Institution. Her books include Germany Unified and Europe Transformed (1995) with Philip Zelikow, The Gorbachev Era (1986) with Alexander Dallin, and Uncertain Allegiance: The Soviet Union and the Czechoslovak Army (1984). She also has written numerous articles on Soviet and East European foreign and defense policy, and has addressed audiences in settings ranging from the U.S. Ambassador's Residence in Moscow to the Commonwealth Club to the 1992 and 2000 Republican National Conventions. From 1989 through March 1991, the period of German reunification and the final days of the Soviet Union, she served in the Bush Administration as Director, and then Senior Director, of Soviet and East European Affairs in the National Security Council, and a Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. In 1986, while an international affairs fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations, she served as Special Assistant to the Director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 1997, she served on the Federal Advisory Committee on Gender -- Integrated Training in the Military. She was a member of the boards of directors for the Chevron Corporation, the Charles Schwab Corporation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the University of Notre Dame, the International Advisory Council of J.P. Morgan and the San Francisco Symphony Board of Governors. She was a Founding Board member of the Center for a New Generation, an educational support fund for schools in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park, California and was Vice President of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula. In addition, her past board service has encompassed such organizations as Transamerica Corporation, Hewlett Packard, the Carnegie Corporation, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, The Rand Corporation, the National Council for Soviet and East European Studies, the Mid-Peninsula Urban Coalition and KQED, public broadcasting for San Francisco. Born November 14, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama, she resides in Washington, D.C. So who are these celebrities? What is their education? What is their experience in affairs of State or in National Security? While I will defend to the death their right to express their opinions, I think that if they are going to call into question the intelligence of our leaders, we should also have all the facts on their educations and background: Barbra Streisand: Completed high school Career: Singing and acting Cher: Dropped out of school in 9th grade. Career: Singing and acting Martin Sheen Flunked exam to enter University of Dayton. Career: Acting Jessica Lange Dropped out college mid-freshman year. Career: Acting Alec Baldwin Dropped out of George Washington U. after scandal Career: Acting Julia Roberts Completed high school Career: Acting Sean Penn Completed High school Career: Acting Susan Sarandon Degree in Drama from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Career: Acting Ed Asner Completed High school Career: Acting George Clooney Dropped out of University of Kentucky Career: Acting Michael Moore Dropped out first year University of Michigan. Career: Movie Director Sarah Jessica Parker: Completed High School Career: Acting Jennifer Anniston: Completed High School Career: Acting Mike Farrell Completed High school Career: Acting Janeane Garofelo Dropped out of College. Career: Stand up comedienne Larry Hagman Attended Bard College for one year. Career: Acting While comparing the education and experience of these two groups, we should also remember that President Bush and his cabinet are briefed daily, even hourly, on the War on Terror and threats to our security. They are privy to information gathered around the world concerning the Middle East, the threats to America, the intentions of terrorists and terrorist-supporting governments. They are in constant communication with the CIA, the FBI, Interpol, NATO, The United Nations, our own military, and that of our allies around the world. We cannot simply believe that we have full knowledge of the threats because we watch CNN!! We cannot believe that we are in any way as informed as our leaders. These celebrities have no intelligence-gathering agents, no fact-finding groups, no insight into the minds of those who would destroy our country. They only have a deep seated hatred for all things Republican. By nature, and no one knows quite why, the Hollywood elitists detest Conservative views and anything that supports or uplifts the United States of America. The silence was deafening from the Left when Bill Clinton bombed a pharmaceutical factory outside of Khartoum, or when he attacked the Bosnian Serbs in 1995 and 1999. He bombed Serbia itself to get Slobodan Milosevic out of Kosovo, and not a single peace rally was held. When our Rangers were ambushed in Somalia and 18 young American lives were lost, not a peep was heard from Hollywood. Yet now, after our nation has been attacked on its own soil, after 3,000 Americans were killed by freedom-hating terrorists while going about their routine lives, they want to hold rallies against the war. Why the change? Because an honest, God-fearing Republican sits in the White House. Another irony is that in 1987, when Ronald Reagan was in office, the Hollywood group aligned themselves with disarmament groups like SANE, FREEZE and PEACE ACTION, urging our own government to disarm and freeze the manufacturing of any further nuclear weapons, in order to promote world peace. It is curious that now, even after we have heard all the evidence that Saddam Hussein has chemical, biological and is very close to obtaining nuclear weapons, their is no cry from this group for HIM to disarm. They believe we should leave him alone in his quest for these weapons of mass destruction, even though it is certain that these deadly weapons will eventually be used against us in our own cities. So why the hype out of Hollywood? Could these celebrities believe that since they draw such astronomical salaries, they are entitled to also determine the course of our Nation? That they can make viable decisions concerning war and peace? Did Michael Moore have the backing of the Nation when he recently thanked France, on our behalf, for being a "good enough friend to tell us we were wrong"? I know for certain he was not speaking for me. Does Sean Penn fancy himself a Diplomat, in going to Iraq when we are just weeks away from war? Does he believe that his High School Diploma gives him the knowledge (and the right) to go to a country that is controlled by a maniacal dictator, and speak on behalf of the American people? Or is it the fact that he pulls in more money per year than the average American worker will see in a lifetime? Does his bank account give him clout? The ultimate irony is that many of these celebrities have made a shambles of their own lives, with drug abuse, alcoholism, numerous marriages and divorces, scrapes with the law, publicized temper tantrums, etc. How dare they pretend to know what is best for an entire nation! What is even more bizarre is how many people in this country will listen and accept their views, simply because they liked them in a certain movie, or have fond memories of an old television sitcom! It is time for us, as citizens of the United States, to educate ourselves about the world around us. If future generations are going to enjoy the freedoms that our forefathers bequeathed us, if they are ever to know peace in their own country and their world, to live without fear of terrorism striking in their own cities, we must assure that this nation remains strong. We must make certain that those who would destroy us are made aware of the severe consequences that will befall them. Yes, it is a wonderful dream to sit down with dictators and terrorists and join hands, singing Cumbaya and talking of world peace. But it is not real. We did not stop Adolf Hitler from taking over the entire continent of Europe by simply talking to him. We sent our best and brightest, with the strength and determination that this Country is known for, and defeated the Nazi regime. President John F. Kennedy did not stop the Soviet ships from unloading their nuclear missiles in Cuba in 1962 with mere words. He stopped them with action, and threat of immediate war if the ships did not turn around. We did not end the Cold War with conferences. It ended with the strong belief of President Ronald Reagan... PEACE through STRENGTH.

My friend,Big Sexy, and I were talking at work the other day and I wrote something down for him to read. After he read it,he wrote a comment I knew you would enjoy reading, even if you can't read it over the air. Here it is in it's entirety. You know the world's gone crazy when the best hip-hop singer is white, the best golfer is black and Germany doesn't want to go to war. Here is his reply:The damn French are the ones that piss me off, because we are running their machines.Ironic, oui?Germany can't get over the fact that we once kicked their asses, united both sides of their country and let them keep their land,Benz's,cabbage and frankfurters.Don't figure! These Mexican's want to cross a border, let's have a plane waiting and give them a border to cross and a semi-automatic rifle. We will see how anxious their taco asses are then!I really feel sorry for the British, they're our allies and we are mistakenly shooting them.We should have circumcised the Koreans back in the mid-fifties,cause there is no end to those pricks!Who really knows what's up with France and Germany.I thought we had done away with their dickheads,Hitler and Napoleon! P.S.I'm not sure which side the Chicks are on.Hang in there Alan,Toby and Hank! Well,I hope you enjoy his thoughts as much as I did.If you do decide to share this with your listeners,I hope you will wait until Thurs. or Fri.morning between 5:40 and 6:40 in the morning, because those are our next working days this week.Hope to hear from you soon.Yeah,Baby! Moby, I have missed you in the mornings at your former radio home. Having those other guys there is like waking up to find a strange man in your bedroom. On a very serious and sincere note, During this time of war, we need more people like you, A True Patriot! This morning I found your show by accident. I was scanning my Traffic Info button and it landed on Z93. I heard a familiar voice and the Admiral! My Nephew is on the USS Gunston Hall in the Persian Gulf. Moby, I am proud of all our young men and women in todays military as they are all volunteers. They are committed to fighting for our freedom. Just before my nephew shipped out he said every morning they had to pass the protesters at the gate in Virginia. He said he just smiled and waved. These people have no clue that without our armed forces and our rights of freedom in our great nation, the protesters would be treated as they are in other countries. Jailed, or shot. God Bless you, Moby. I pray that God guides and brings our troops home soon. One of your biggest fans, Sue

Moby I heard you talking on the radio to Adm. Keyton this morning and again when you talked with the Young family. Did you get their address, so we might send a card to the family, expressing our thanks for such a wonderful son and offer some encouragment to them. I realize they might not want it made public.

I really miss you on the country music scene but also wish you much success in your new field of music. May I ask a favor? Will you please tell me how to obtain a copy of The Scotsman's Song or a copy of the words?

Really enjoyed the site, and having printed and forwarded the Charlie Daniels letter on to others. Wow! What a letter - first time to see it and read it.

Moby, I used to listen to you on 97.9 WKKW country up here in WV. We really missed you when they quit syndicating you. Just happened to be messing around on the internet and thought I'd look you up. I see you are doing rock-n-roll now. That's great too. Anyway be happy at whatever you do!!! I really admire your sense of loyalty and your beliefs. Keep up the good work. Yeah Baby, Becky PS (I really miss the Scotsman Sone!!!)
