My dear friends,

This is a great time for my son, and I wanted to let you folks all know about it.

He has firmly decided to join the Navy after high school graduation. He’ll graduate in June.

He plans work for the city of Roswell again over the summer, and go to basic in August.

But with his new decision, his future wife will have a better husband, my grandchildren will have a better father, and our nation will have a much better citizen. Sweet land of liberty, I give you my son.

I have felt for over a year now that the military would provide the best possible future and the broadest horizons for this fine young man that has always been my “little boy.”

I’m very proud of him for his decision, and I wanted to share the good news with my patriotic friends that I know are of like mind.
